Make an impact in the life of a student by volunteering today!
If you have a passion for improving the lives of underrepresented youth then we need your help.
Youth from across Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties come to Youth N.O.W. seeking access to caring individuals who will support them in overcoming barriers to their academic and social success. You can be one of those caring individuals by becoming a volunteer tutor, homework helper or enrichment leader!
Under the guidance of the center site coordinator you will receive the support you need to become effective in the life of a student. No experience in tutoring necessary, just bring your enthusiasm, time, dedication, knowledge and familiarity of the subject. There is a significant need for Math and Science tutors but tutoring in all subjects, from History to English, are needed as well.
Currently seeking retired teachers, college students majoring in math or those comfortable teaching middle and high school math!
Don’t feel confident in tutoring? No worries, we have plenty of volunteer opportunities for you!
“Service learning has been really impactful. Prior to serving at Youth N.O.W., I thought that I knew my community very well but through my service, I realized just how much there is still to learn. I began to see that I was serving at a site that was rich in so many ways; rich in culture, friendship, unity, and love. I truly fell in love with the amount of deserving care that the students received from the personnel.” -Karla Matias (CSUMB Student)
If you would like to volunteer as a tutor, our fall program will begin August 24th!
